Jamisons of the Giant’s Causeway – the NALIL Blog

One of the first really good leads I had on my journey to trace back the Jamisons was a fabulous post by Nevin Taggart in his blog NALIL (North Antrim Local Interest List), a local history, culture and genealogy site with a wealth of fantastic info. The post is here: Jamisons of the Giant’s Causeway.  NALIL is a great place to start your own search … Continue reading Jamisons of the Giant’s Causeway – the NALIL Blog

Jamison Family Garage, Shore Road, Belfast

Many thanks to the brilliant forum members on the Belfast forum, where this wonderful picture was posted; it shows most of my early family home and adjacent garage, which were situated on Shore Road, North Belfast, alas demolished in the early 1980’s. Below is a googlemap of the street (I think it’s the … Continue reading Updated Details for Eliza Jamison; Dates and Last Place of Abode

Farewell Uncle Ken

It is with great sadness that I pass on news of the loss of another Jamison – my uncle Kenneth (Ken), born 5/10/1941 in Annahilt, County Down, Northern Ireland. Ken died on the 29/12/2010 in Mill Hill, London. Ken was my father’s brother, and it is with a great sense of loss that we mark his passing. I attended his funeral together with the family … Continue reading Farewell Uncle Ken
